ARIBO ORIGIN STORY

Corey Clothier co-created the R&D AV Accelerator, ARIBO (Applied Robotics for Installations and Base Operations), with the late, great Jim Overholt, the Army’s “Chief Roboticist” in 2011.

ARIBO was built as a national “Living Laboratory” for ground mobile robotics testing and demonstrations. ARIBO aligned military, public sector, and commercial ground vehicle robotics R&D.

The original ARIBO focus areas were similar to early commercial deployments that are starting now, such as, campus based service applications like low-speed logistics, inspection and security. The program developed an international team of collaborators and developed one of the 1st Level-4 autonomous pilots in the US.

We couldn’t let ARIBO fade away, so we adopted the name and mission!

One of the notable highlights is that ARIBO was endorsed by the White House and we were invited to present to the White House and legislative leadership.

Experience

Supporting & Shaping the AV Industry Since the Beginning

ARIBO is a boutique, high-impact advisory firm built on nearly two decades of automated-mobility leadership. We’ve helped shape the industry from the start with many of the world’s firsts: 1st AV pilots on US military bases, 1st accessible AV pod, 1st public-access AV shuttle in Las Vegas, 1st automated shuttle in the UAE, 1st airport AV pilots, and the FAA’s first airfield autonomy initiative. (and about 1/2 dozen more…)

Today we continue to lead from the front, guiding airports, campuses, logistics sites, and defense partners through safe, real-world AV deployment. With more than 100 projects completed, we bring unmatched depth in strategy, planning, safety, and integration to help clients launch automated mobility with confidence.

Leveraging years of leadership in AV strategy and deployment, ARIBO continues to shape the future of automated mobility, delivering strategy, innovation, and execution to the global AV landscape.
