For capital
Autonomy is easy to demo and hard to verify.
A polished pilot video tells an investment committee almost nothing about whether a system survives contact with a real operator. Acquirers, investors and insurers bring us in to find out what is actually there.
The problem
The people usually asked to assess autonomy have never deployed any.
Investment teams have sophisticated views on markets and financials and very little ability to assess whether an autonomous system does what its founders say it does. Technical claims arrive wrapped in language that is difficult to falsify from the outside, and the usual technical advisors have never had to put one of these systems into an operation.
Insurers face a harder version of the same problem. They have to price a risk whose failure modes the industry is still discovering.
What we assess
Four questions, answered against evidence.
Is the operational domain real?
The company claims an envelope. We test whether it can evidence that envelope, and where the documented capability stops short of the claim.
Would the safety process survive a regulator?
Safety maturity assessed against the frameworks operators and regulators actually apply, not against internal documentation written for investors.
Does the deployment thesis hold?
We put the go-to-market in front of the operational reality of the buyers who would have to run it. This is where most theses quietly break.
How does it compare?
We have advised more than 40 AV developers. We assess a company against a real distribution, not against a category of one.
Selected work
SGS
We supported the SGS team through their acquisition of TRES60 and X-Analytic, adding advanced digital capability to their mining business in Chile. Specialist consulting and advice on the technology side of the transaction.
Munich Re
We went further than assessing one company and co-developed the safety verification methodology itself, building an institutional-grade framework for assessing autonomous vehicle risk inside an underwriting practice. If you are building a repeatable internal capability rather than buying a single opinion, that is the work.
We have also supported ACS on acquisition and investment decisions, alongside work that remains under NDA.
Why independence matters
We hold no position in anything we assess.
We do not build vehicles. We do not resell them. We hold no position in the companies we assess and take no commission on the outcome.
That is the only reason this service has any value. It is also why operators trust our recommendations: we assess the same vendors on both sides of the table, and the assessment does not change based on who is paying for it.
